October 24th-26th 2021

Capture history in this unique multi-day photography workshop featuring one of Arizona's most breathtaking landscapes. Gain unforgettable experiences among the towering canyon walls and spires of Canyon De Chelly, as we encounter beautifully preserved ancient petroglyphs and ruins. Get to know this unique national monument traveling via jeep with local guides who have an in-depth knowledge of the area. Along the way, you will receive unparalleled professional photography advice that will guarantee you go home with the perfect shot.  

Day 1 / Sunday, October 24th  
    We will meet and greet 2:00pm, check in to our rooms then head out for our first sunset photoshoot and field class.

・Day 2 / Monday, October 25th
    Up early for a sunrise vista overlooking the canyon.Breakfast, then time download your images. At 11am we will have class time on editing and creative process. Then out on our jeep tour to visit petroglyphs, Antelope House ruins then sunset at White House ruins.
 
・Day 3 / Tuesday, October 26th
    Back to the canyon to capture another sunrise. Back for breakfast and image downloading . Class time to share your work.

・Transportation to and from Chinle, Arizona.
    (We will car pool to our sunset/sunrise photo locations)

・Hotel: We have rooms blocked at the Holiday Inn Express in            Chinle, AZ. Once you register you will receive an email with            information to book your two night stay at a discounted                  price.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Weather 

Group Size

・Easy:  This workshop does not require any strenuous                        hiking. You should at least be comfortable carrying your                  equipment and water while walking on uneven surfaces.                  Photography in nature often requires departing from the                smooth path to find new perspectives and angles. You may              often find yourself bending, crouching, or even lying on the            ground to get the perfect shot. Please contact if you have                any questions.

Los Angeles, CA to Chinle: approx 9 hours/55 minutes





・Chinle is a small town with one grocery store, make sure        you bring any favorites snacks, supplements and personal      items.

Our experiences are purposefully kept to small groups so we can cater to everyone’s individual personal goals and skills. 
In general, you can expect that we’ll cover:

・ Basic and advanced camera settings: Make your shooting experience faster, smoother, and more effective.

・The art of storytelling, getting the whole story on any trip.

・How to be adaptable: While we cannot change the weather or other conditions, we can change our perspective and vision to get the most out of any situation.

・Creative expression: Most of our field time will be working on the creative side of photography so you can capture unique images that represent your point of view.

・How to incorporate human subjects: Including people into your images can add visual interest and better demonstrate scale

Recommended PHOTOGRAPHY Gear

・The camera body and lenses you are most comfortable with, dslr or      mirrorless.

・Lenses ranging from wide angle to telephoto.
    16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm

・Tripod

・Extra batteries and memory cards 

・A comfortable way to carry your gear, water, and snacks, such as a camera backpack, shoulder bag, etc.

・Laptop (Recommended for class times and editing)

・Filters: polarizing, split neutral density filters, or any neutral density filters

・Lens cleaning pen or cloth

・Flash, if you are comfortable using one.

 Personal Gear

・Dress like you would for a day of casual hiking, including  sturdy          shoes and comfortable, durable clothes.

・Sun protection / Hat / Water Bottle 

・Bring warm gear for early morning sunrises and evening                         sunsets, hat, gloves, and warm jacket.
